[Verse] I walked and I walked, and I walked and I walked I stopped for to rest my feet I sit down on an old oak tree, there went fast asleep; I dreamt I was sitting in a swell café as hungry as a bear My stomach sent a telegram to my soul: "There’s a wreck on the road somewhere" [Chorus] I heard the voice of a pork chop say, "Come unto me and rest Well, you talk about your stewing beans, I know what’s the best Well, you talk about your chicken, ham and egg, turkey stuffed and dressed" But I heard the voice of a pork chop say: "Come unto me and rest" Yeah! I heard the voice of a pork chop say: "Come unto me and rest" [Chorus] "Well, you talk about your stewing beans, I know what’s the best Well, you talk about your chicken, ham and egg, turkey stuffed and dressed" But I heard the voice of a pork chop say: "Come unto me and rest" Yeah! I heard the voice of a pork chop say: "Come unto me and rest"
6.
Well yo took the easy route When you ran my heart about Even told my only mind to get along It was easy for you now And it's scarred above my brow It ain't wrong, but it ain't right Tell all the people, i done you wrong Tell em i don't love you anymore Tell em all, that it was your fault It was a lesson to be taught I can't eat stand nor talk It ain't wrong, but honey it ain't right
7.
If i had the notion To swim across the ocean Momma, i'd swim it all for you When the day is dark adn dim And there's no light to give Lay my head by yours tonight Forever and a day Seems like forever baby When tomorrow never comes when i'm feelin lonely Think bout you only Lay my head by yours tonight Well if i want to hold you In My loving arms Squeeze you like never before When i'm feeling lonesome Think bout you ownsome Lay my head by yours tonight

Lord, I'm broke and hungry, and my money's all gone Lord, I'm broke and hungry, and my money's all gone Wither in the stomach, I've got to travel on All my crops a failure, couldn't raise a doggone thing All my crops a failure, couldn't raise a doggone thing I'm just like a beggar, hear these mournful blues I sing If I see a pork chop, Lord, I b'lieve I'd pass away If I see a pork chop, Lord, I b'lieve I'd pass away I ain't had a square meal in many doggone days I'm so broke and hungry, I could eat a kangaroo I'm so broke and hungry, I could eat a kangaroo I feel just like stealing, there's nothing else to do Won't somebody help me, with a little bite to eat? Won't somebody help me, with a little bite to eat? Don't care what you give me, I'd eat even chicken feet Standing on the roadside, a great big sign, it read Standing on the roadside, a great big sign, it read Say, "U-Needa Biscuit", because I was a-near drop dead My body feels so weary, because I've got the miss-meal cramps My body feels so weary, 'cause I've got the miss-meal cramps Right now I could eat more than a whole carload of tramps
12.
I'm gonna lay my head out on some lonesome railroad track I say, I'm gonna lay my head, mama, ah out on some railroad track Well when that train come along, I'm gonna snatch it back Tell me brownskin mama where did you stay last night? I said, tell me mama where did you stay last night? With your hair all down, your face ain't ever wiped I say I love you pretty mama, ah'ou'ah don't care what you do I say I love you pretty, ah'ou'ah don't care what you do You go to your black man mama, I stick to my gal I say if you don't need your black woman you gonna have to carry some heavy stall If you don't want me mama you got to carry some heavy stall How come I say that? Because I can get more jet black women than a freight train can haul

about

Tomorrow Never Comes is a complete blast from the past. Vaden Landers, the Asheville-based Country/Hillbilly singer, recorded live at BigTone Records in Bristol TN. This album is an expression of Landers' old soul, from 30’s style country/blues, to late 40’s and 50’s style Honky Tonk/Hillbilly music. The album features original songs and also revives some old tunes that have nearly been forgotten. Landers performs mostly solo on this record, but is accompanied by bass, guitar and harmony vocals on select tracks. The BigTone team did a fantastic job showcasing the talents of this young artist.
